We start with Alia's Mandvo, which I have to say is a little different from other Mandvos that I have attended in the past. And I have to say it was wonderful to experience something different! It's an all-ladies event that starts with some prayers, moves onto the ceremonies and ends with some singing. It's an emotion-filled event that last several days preparing Alia to leave her family and friends behind as she moves to the UK to start her new life with her husband.

Imam Zamin ceremony, Hasnaine's family puts the band around her arm to keep her protected and safe, then go on to present gifts to her and feed her sweets.
Alia's Grandmother recites Ziyarat
Alia's cousin reciting Qasida, followed by other cousins joining in and singing funny songs about the bride and groom.
It's tradition that the bride be taken home by her brother, as Alia has 2 sisters her wonderful brother-in-laws come to take her home after the event.
