Best Friends Graduate BSC

Priya, Vineeta, Zafira and Priya are 4 recent graduates of the University of Alberta and they now have a snazzy BSc that they can put behind their names. Friends for 7 years, these ladies have been together through thick and thin and graduation was their next step together. The day was met with mixed feelings: relief, excitement, accomplishment and sadness as the girls get ready to begin their next chapter...more school!

Alia & Hasnaine's Reception Day 5

The reception took place at the York Conference Centre in Vancouver. The "Bollywood theme" carried out thru the reception. Alia & Hasnaine decided to pick Bollywood Hit movies for their table numbers, I thought it was appropriate to show #14 Vivah (below) as it means Marriage. One of the engagement potrait's can also be seen which was taken 4 days before the reception you can see this link here. The same picture was used by Alia's cousin and friend to make their fairwell message cards.

We had a quick photo session right before the reception in the lobby of the convention centre.

The detail in Alia's Sari is just gorgeous!

The couple is welcomed by Hasnaine's mother who performed certain ceremonies, thereafter the sapatia cermony takes place where Hasnaine is the first to break the clay pot. They then move on to pay their respects to Alia's grandmother.

During the Cobol ceremony, all the coins collected by Alia are donated to charity. Thereafter, Hasnaines family presents her with a gold bangle.

Some emotional speeches are presented by family and friends.

Alia's cousins and sister decide that in order to officially welcome Hasnaine into their family he has to under go a test which consists of him singing to Alia, answering a couple questions and saying something sweet to her, it was very entertaining and he did fantastic!

Hasnaines decided to surprise Alia for their first dance by presenting her with a rose...

He also ended the dance with a second rose.

Thank you Alia & Hasnaine for making me part of your special bollywood theme wedding, it was an amazing experience that I will never forget. You two make a wonderful couple and I wish you all the best. May the future give you much love, laughter and happiness!

Alia & Hasnaine's Wedding Day 4

This is the day that Alia & Hasnaine get to see each other again for the first time in 3 days. As you go through this blog you will see that it’s only after they are finally officially married.

With a beautiful outfit and accessories, Alia begins getting ready. Hints of fresh citrus and pineapple permeate the air as her Cool Water perfume adds an aromatically conducive environment. I have gained a new found passion for fragrances as we own Common Scents Perfume Store in Sherwood Park Mall.

The “Imam Zamin” ceremony takes place and thereafter Alia's father hands her a copy of the Quran as he recites a short prayer.

Nika is recited. This ceremony formalizes their marriage. Note: during prayers and ceremonies men and women are in different rooms, but you can hear the Nika being recited from either.

We begin the bridal session. There were no events planned later that day, so we had a lot of time for some great shots.
